What is Know & Play Preschool?
Know & Play Preschool is a new section of The Know & Play Space.
It features learning activity guides and curriculums to support your child through the preschool stage of their learning and development journey.
Our Know & Play Preschool publications are suitable for just having fun doing activities at home together, homeschool preschool, or other early years and childcare settings. They have been expertly put together as purposeful, play-based programmes.
What is the '20 Purposeful Play Ideas' series?
Our '20 Purposeful Play Ideas' series is the newest addition to our Know & Play Preschool publications. The series contains different themed learning ideas, all suitable for 3 and 4 year olds. All of the guides in the '20 Purposeful Play Ideas' series include 20 play-based learning activities that cover objectives from each area of the Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance, as set out by the English government. This means that with each guide, children are getting opportunities to learn and develop holistically - rather than just focusing on areas such as numeracy and literacy.
Upon purchasing the any of the '20 Purposeful Play Ideas' guides, you will also get access to the 'Supporting Resources' section of Know & Play Preschool, which provides you with BONUS printable resources and guides to enhance, support and help with the activities and ideas.
What age is the '20 Purposeful Play Ideas' series suitable for?
The '20 Purposeful Play Ideas' series which is best suited for 3 and 4 year olds, who are in their preschool stage of learning. However, the objectives covered throughout the guide are ones that children could begin to work on around 2.5 years old, and would be still continuing to master around 5 years of age too. The activities can easily be extended or made more challenging and we have included suggestions of how to do this. If you are unsure as to whether the guide is suitable for your child, please reach out via email or Instagram DM.
Do I need a lot of space for these activities?
And are they any activities that offer learning outdoors?
Nope, you don't need a lot of space for any of these activities. All of them can be adapted to work in the space you have available for play. And, yes! Definitely! In fact, nearly all of the activities are ones that you could do outside and some are BEST done outdoors.
Do I need to buy lots of resources to be able to do the activities?
Nope! Most of the activities use resources that you will most likely already have or can collect at home. As mentioned above, any resources we feel would be helpful materials to have to enhance or help with the activities, we've included as bonus printables.

Can I see a sneak peak of what I am buying?
Of course! So with each guide you will get a 'Theme Overview' which shows you all of the 20 activities included within the guide. We've blanked this out here with stars so that we don't give away all of the activities!

This is then what the activity pages looks like. You'll see that every activity has a how to, a list of everything you will need, and at least one image so you can see what it may look like when set up. Each page also has additional sections such as: questions to enhance your child's learning, further suggested resources, ways to challenge your child and how to move their learning on.
My child goes to a Preschool already and I don't have much time with them at home. Is this still worth buying?
If you like setting up and doing simple play activities with your child, and you want to be supporting their development, then it's definitely still worth buying! The organisation of the activities is flexible, meaning you can just dip in and dip out of activities whenever works for you (and there are 20 of them to do this with!), if you don't want to follow the suggested weekly order.
As mentioned in our guide, it's suggested in research that children learn best through a spiral approach to learning, so coming back to activities over and over again at different times is really beneficial to their development and mastery of skills.
What's the difference between the PDF Copy and the Hard Copy?
The PDF Copy and Hard Copy are the same document, however, the PDF will be sent instantly upon purchase to your email. The Hard Copy will be posted to your chosen address. If we have copies already in stock, they will be posted as soon as possible. If not, then the ordering option online will change to pre-order, until we have more in stock, and will be sent as soon as we have them. This doesn't normally take longer than 1 week.
