The Gradual Launch
I've chosen to launch Know & Play Phonics gradually, in a stepped approach.
The earliest stages of phonics are the most important.
This is where children learn to:
hear sounds
recognise patterns of language
connect sounds to letters
begin blending and segmenting
When these foundations are secure, everything that follows becomes easier. When they are rushed or missed, gaps begin to form.
That's why in Know & Play Phonics, I've chosen to focus deeply on these first three stages to begin with - so that you can support your child in the way that truly makes a difference.
But what about the later phases of Phonics?
Phase 3 and beyond are currently in development, and will be added to as Know & Play Phonics grows.
