Hello, and welcome to this month’s development focus. This month, we’re talking all about school readiness.

Now, before you read anymore, I want to gently reframe what 'school readiness' actually means, because when we hear that phrase, it’s very easy to think about things like:

Can my child read?

Do they know their alphabet?

Can they write their name?

Can they count to 100?

Can they sit still and follow instructions?

The thing is, true school readiness isn’t about pushing academic skills early. It’s about the foundations that sit underneath all of that. When a child feels secure, confident, independent and emotionally supported, they are far more ready to step into a new environment and begin learning.

That’s what we’re going to focus on this month.
