The Wondrous Acre Wood is a story-led play & learning world
for children aged birth - 7 (and beyond).
It is rooted in the natural world, the rhythm of the seasons and the turning of the year.
It began as a story. A young boy found a gap in the hedge on a September morning, and discovers a wood full of extraordinary creatures, real natural science and quiet sense of belonging. Everything Finn discovers in the wood is true, but whether the wood itself is real, well... that rather depends on whether you're the noticing kind.
The sessions, clubs and curriculum that grow from the stories are designed to give children exactly what childhood deserves - unhurried time in the natural world, stories that carry real learning, songs that celebrate the seasons and the deep confidence that comes from knowing you belong somewhere.
What I can tell you though, is this...
Right now, in a Hampshire woodland, a site is being cleared, a stream is being uncovered, and a community is beginning to gather. The gates are hoping to be opened in Spring 2027, and when it does, everything 'Wondrous' will find its home there.
Until then, the sessions are running, the clubs are open,
and the stories are waiting to be read. The Wood is ready for you, wherever you are.
You just have to know where to look.

Currently they all run from my home & garden in Bishops Waltham, as all things Wondrous can happen anywhere, but I will be moving all sessions over to the real Wondrous Acre Wood site once it's ready!

The Wondrous Curriculum™

The Wondrous Curriculum is a story-led, enrichment curriculum for children around the ages of 3-7 - built around the seasonal world of The Wondrous Acre Wood, and rooted in what the natural world is a actually doing each week.
Every song, activity, recipe and more, is connected to the story chapters from the Tales of The Wondrous Acre Wood, and the real science that lives within them.
This is not a scheme of work.
It is a guide to truly noticing - carefully structured, deeply considered and completely alive.
