With Wondrous Tutoring, every session is built around that belief. We will meet your child at whatever stage they are at right now, and build on what they need for their own personal learning journey.
Your Wondrous Tutors
Becca
Founder of The Know & Play Space and all things Wondrous, Becca is the main tutor and teacher for most Wondrous sessions.
Her expertise is Early Years and Key Stage 1, with a passion for enabling environments, play-based learning and outdoor learning.
Becca currently runs her tutoring sessions from her home in Bishops Waltham.
Catherine
As a wonderful teaching colleague of Becca's for many years, Catherine has now also come out of the classroom and has joined as a Know & Play Tutor.
She will be leading her own Wondrous Tutoring sessions, and has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in both KS1 and KS2.
Catherine will be a mobile tutor, and will come and bring Wondrous Tutoring to your home. She is based in Chandlers Ford, but is happy to travel within a reasonable radius.
Upon registering your interest for Wondrous Tutoring, we will inform you of who has availability, and who would be the best for your child's stage of learning.
A whole new setting for Wondrous Tutoring sessions is currently in development.

A Space for Childhood
Currently, the Wondrous Tutoring sessions, led by myself - Becca, take place in an intentionally prepared, home-from-home environment, based in Bishops Waltham - warm, welcoming and designed with children's development at its heart.
Drawing inspiration from respected early childhood approaches including Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Waldorf, the environment itself acts as a teacher - calm, ordered and rich with open-ended possibilities that grow with the child.
At Wondrous Tutoring, we all use and offer an extensive collection of high quality, play-based learning resources, deliberately selected to be purposeful, engaging and developmentally appropriate.
Outside, the learning continues. The outdoor space is set up for play, exploration and discovery, and beyond that, the local woodlands, moors and fields are an extension of where we can play & learn together.
This is a space where children feel at home, where they feel trusted, and where they flourish whilst doing some of the most important work of their childhood - learning, playing and discovering who they are.
Once the Wondrous Acre Wood site is ready, all Wondrous Tutoring sessions led by Becca will be moved over to the new site!
Wondrous Tutoring
in your own home
The amazing Catherine is going to be helping The Know & Play Space branch out, by offering Wondrous Tutoring sessions in your own home.
Catherine will be working as a mobile tutor, bringing all of the wonderful play-based learning and resources to you and your child.
This means that we are able to offer a wide range of availability and get you started with your Wondrous Tutoring journey, whilst our new Wondrous Acre Wood site is currently in development.

1:1 Learning Journey
Sessions
Personalised tutoring for phonics, literacy and mathematics
A Learning Journey Session is one to one tutoring with a difference.
Rather than working through a fixed programme regardless of where your child is, a Learning Journey begins with really getting to know your child - how they learn, what they find easy, what feels tricky and what lights them up.
From there, every session is built around the next genuine steps in their individual learning journey - whether that is phonics, reading, writing or mathematics.
Sessions are rooted in play-based learning, practical exploration and meaningful activity.
Learning Journeys are available for Phonics, Literacy including Reading and or Writing, and Mathematics.
Suitable for children on any Education Pathway,
including Traditional Schooling and Home Education.
Home Ed
Learning Journey
Sessions
Home Education Learning Journeys offer the same personalised, development-led approach as our one to one sessions, but within a small group setting of 1:2 or 1:3 children.
The small group format is intentional. It gives home educated children the opportunity to learn alongside peers in a nurturing, low pressure environment - building the social aspects of learning alongside the academic ones, without the overwhelm of a large classroom setting.
As with all Learn with Know & Play sessions, the starting point is always your child - where they are right now, what they need next and how they learn best.
I welcome interest of groupings where children already have friendships, however, please note that they will need to be at a similar stage on their learning journeys to ensure they get what's best for themselves out of each session. Please do get in contact to discuss this further.
Home Education Learning Journeys are available for Phonics, Literacy and Mathematics.
Booster Group
Sessions
Coming to the new Wondrous Acre Wood site once it's ready will be our
Wondrous Booster Group sessions.
These are primarily designed for children on a traditional schooling pathway, to give them a 'boost' with their phonics, writing or maths - helping to fill those gaps, work through those misconceptions and develop fluency, confidence and a love of learning.
They will be held after school hour.
If your child is on an alternative education pathway, and you think this would be of benefit to them, then please do still register your interest!
