This is the world that Finn found on the first day of September, through a gap in the hedge that wasn't there yesterday. Across a golden meadow and across a stream, he finds a wood of extraordinary creatures, real natural science and a quiet sense of belonging.
Everything Finn discovers in the wood is true. Whether the wood itself is real, well...
that rather depends on whether you're the noticing kind.

Tales of The Wondrous Acre Wood
follows Finn through a complete turning of the year.
From the first day of September, all the way through to the last golden days of August, every chapter is connected to what the natural world is actually doing that week.
The characters all offer beautiful models of traits we'd love our children to develop, and every piece of science woven into the stories is research-backed and true.
The stories have been carefully written to not only provide that sense of reading for pleasure when we escape into books, but to also support children's holistic learning and development.

The Wondrous Acre Wood is not only a story.
In a Hampshire woodland, a real site is being cleared, a stream is being uncovered and a community is beginning to gather.
The gate is hoping to open in spring 2027.
Until then, the story world is open. Come and find us.
