The Books on our Shelves - September 2026

Hello and welcome to The Books on our Shelves series for 2026! I'm heavily influenced by the seasons and the turning of the year, so the books I choose for our shelves are very much related to what's actually happening outdoors in nature right now, and offer links to the chapters from my own series - Tales of The Wondrous Acre Wood.

This month's themes:

• Woodland Animals & Families

• Blackberries & The Hedgerow

• Seeds & their Trees (particularly the Oak Tree & Acorns)

• The Autumn Equinox & Seasonal Changes (focusing on Summer to Autumn)

Some of these will remain on October's bookshelf, and some will be rotated into the seasonal book basket so that they can be accessed and re-read, but aren't the focus books of the month).

If you have any recommendations linked to the themes above, I'd love to hear from you! Leave a comment or find me over on Instagram @theknowandplayspace.
